What ceiling height for a golf simulator is enough?

How to test your ceiling before you buy

Start with a driver, then test a fairway wood and a long iron. Wear the shoes you normally play in, and stand on a surface that matches your planned mat height as closely as possible.
Do not simply wave the club overhead. Make the same backswing you would use on the course. Try a few swings at different speeds and from your natural setup position. For an even safer check, place a temporary marker at the height of the lowest overhead obstacle.
